Choosing a wedding photographer is more about choosing someone you would love to spend the whole day with—someone who delights in similar events and cherishes specific moments. For me, those moments are the way light casts shadows, the smell of blossoming flowers, and the cool breeze in the summer evenings. I cherish the first hug from a friend I haven’t seen in a while, the clasp of my love’s hand on mine as he helps me up a challenging climb, and above all, the intentional details of everyday magic.

My husband and I found Sarah while we were looking for a documentary-style wedding photographer. We fell in love with the movement, framing, and candidness of her photos. But even better, when we got to know Sarah, we discovered that she was an amazing person. I knew from our first meeting that Sarah was a perfect fit for my husband and I. At our "coffee date" she asked what we envisioned for our wedding day and what was most important to us. She also answered all our questions regarding the different films she uses. Now for the most important part, her photography. Her work is amazing! My husband and I were mid-wedding planning when we found out we were expecting. We postponed our wedding and opted for an intimate elopement in San Francisco. We loved her choices of digital, film, black and white, as well as her sweet idea of passing a film camera around our reception to capture candids. Getting to see the moments she captured in real time, and see the way she pivoted quickly to capture something special was truly impressive not only in the moment, but translated to more than we could have imagined in our photos.
We had late breaking venue changes due to rain and she rolled with the punches like a pro.
Working with Sarah was wonderful. She's thoughtful and communicative, and for people who never have photos done, she really made the entire experience comfortable. She was great at honing in on and prioritizing things that are necessary versus unnecessary, while listening. Nothing felt missed! Sarah's advice was so valued and with her opinions and experiences shared with us, we ended up doing a First Look (something we had dismissed) and it was easily the freshest memory in a wonderful blur of a day.

Frequently Asked Questions
Answer 01: For a full wedding day (9hrs) you can expect between 450-600 photos. About half of these are film photos that are mixed in and apart of your Gallery
How many images can I expect in our final gallery?
Answer 02: Absolutely! I love searching out the best light and location for your portraits. While the majority of your day will be documented through a photojournalistic perspective, portraits are one of those beautiful moments on your wedding day where you and your partner can just be together, soak in the moment and find beautiful connection back with each other.
We are not super comfortable in front of the camera--Can you provide us with some direction?
Answer 03: tWe are based in the Sierra Nevada Mountains near Truckee California. Having moved here from the Sacramento area almost a year ago. Depending on your wedding location I will either include travel for no additional cost or start the travel fee at $800 for California based weddings.
Where are you based? Do you charge Travel?
Answer 04: I don’t usually have a second shooter along with me. My process of documenting weddings is very personal, I love to get to know my couples, feel like a friend on their wedding day. So I don’t usually invite someone else in who my couples aren’t comfortable with. We can always chat about this though and I can hire one if your wedding day calls for it.
Do you shoot with a second shooter?
My approach to documenting weddings is fully based in collaboration between you as a couple and my own artistry. Through spending time virtually and together in person, we will get to know one another more fully so that on your wedding day I can meld in with your guests, create with your vision in mind
